  1. Not brother Colin

Theory on how Rupp will handle his Olympic double buildup: he won’t change very much from his current 10k type training. There’s a Salazar quote out there somewhere in which he says that the optimal mileage for an elite 10k runner is 120 mpw, so if he takes that starting point and just makes his long runs and tempos longer he should be pretty well prepared for the marathon. Additionally (and perhaps more importantly) he’s been with Salazar for something like 15 years, training all the while with the goal of moving to the marathon around this time, so I bet that Salazar has put him in a place where he can run close to his optimum without actually doing a marathon specific buildup.
