One response to “Episode 273: Not That Impossible

  1. Two thoughts:
First, if he can have a good world champs, Souleiman for the all important athlete of the year? He hasn’t had a defining race this year, but he has DL victories this year at both 800 and 1500 (plus a pretty good 5000), and is the current world leader at the 800.

Second, regarding the Salazar doping allegations, I think the ‘he confirmed what I wrote’ rhetoric is a little misleading. Most of the things that David Epstein alleged were not illegal, but rather actions that were simply consistent with the idea that he walks the line between legal and illegal. Doing so is kind of crummy, but it’s not wrong, and admitting to it certainly isn’t damning. Additionally, in the few instances in which Epstein alleged something that was illegal (e.g. giving Kara Goucher someone else’s TUEd medication), Salazar flat out denied it.
(Drunk idiot’s note: I read Salazar’s response the day it came out, and haven’t read it since, so I might be forgetting something).
